Biography:
Tom Paris, portrayed by Robert Duncan McNeill, is a prominent character in the television series Star Trek: Voyager. He first appeared in the pilot episode, "Caretaker," which aired in 1995.
Paris is a complex and somewhat rebellious Lieutenant in Starfleet. He begins Voyager's journey imprisoned for actions that led to the death of a fellow officer. Captain Kathryn Janeway grants him a second chance and he becomes the helmsman for the starship Voyager.
Throughout the series, Paris demonstrates his piloting skills, particularly his love for classic Earth aircraft, and often displays a cheeky, sometimes arrogant, demeanor. Over time he matures, becoming a valued and trustworthy member of the crew, eventually marrying B'Elanna Torres and starting a family.
